However, if you want to know more about Spinal Tap, Wikipedia comes to the rescue:

This is Spinal Tap is my favourite film of all time, but then that maybe because I am a musician. It is like the Office, in that it is a spoof documentary. It is clever because most of it is improvised. It is taking the mick out of ageing 80s metal bands like iron Maiden. In fact I think it was Iron Maiden who said that pretty much everything in the film had happened to them in real life!
They weren't as funny as normal yesterday because they are now so old! But I think they were there really because so many people adore the film. It wouldn't be a massive rock concert without them. But I can see how if this was your first introduction to them you may not see the humour.
Watch the film!!

Anyone who has had even casual contact with the Heavy Metal fraternity will see the humour in the excellent "if you will" rockumentary that started it all off - including a lot of metal bands themselves.
I was at Reading Festival the year Black Sabbath played with Ian Gillan as vocalist, and they had the infamous Stonehenge stage set - obviously Christoper Guest was there as well!
By the way, Christopher Guest is actually Lord Hayden-Guest - he has inherited a peerage, and is entitled to sit in the House of Lords, and wonderful Lady Hayden Guest is Jamie Lee Curtis!
What a man!

finally after over a year on the AB i can say to one of the brilliant and respected members of the AB community that they are not actually right!!!!!!!
he is no longer allowed to sit in the house of commons according to wikipedia!
"Guest attended the House of Lords regularly until the passage of the House of Lords Act 1999 barred most hereditary peers from their seats. In the article Guest remarked"
"There's no question that the old system was unfair. I mean, why should you be born to this? But now it's all just sheer cronyism. The Prime Minister can put in whoever he wants and bus them in to vote. The Upper House should be an elected body, it's that simple"
i can now leave!!!!!
