I am an NTL customer with broadband (now Virgin Media) connected to my wireless laptop. HOWEVER, I would like to connect a MAC BOOK to it too, but have lost the original NTL World setup disk. I have tried the MacBook's Airport and selected the wireless network oprtions, asks for the password - even though I am typing the password correctly, it still does not let me connect. Do I need the NTL WOrld Disk, or can I download something?
Have you tried firstly connecting your Mac to the router by ethernet cable?
If that doesn't work - try resetting the router to default, so all the security settings are wiped off. Reset the security while the mac is connected by ethernet, and all should be well.
What sort of router do you have? One supplied by Virgin?
I'd agree with Ethel though, if possible try using an ethernet cable first. However, if other computers are connected to the internet through the router than your Mac will have no trouble either.
As far as wireless goes -- make sure you know the encryption type (WPA, WPA2, WEP...) and are entering the passwork as a PSK (pre-shared key).
