Fellow ABers may remember Section 4 of this Quiz, where film titles had to be identified from the initials given, e.g. T W O O = The Wizard Of Oz. No other criteria was mentioned, so (possibly through yet another example of eccentric marking) for (14) D W W - Why is Dangerous When Wet (a genuine 1953 film starring Esther Williams) marked wrong, and Dances With Wolves (the 1990 Kevin Costner western) marked as correct ? The organiser's decision is said to be final, so I have not written - instead I invite comment from ABers.
I suppose the compiler doesnt know about other options when they set the questions. It seems unfair when your option is just as good in fulfilling the criteria. Just part of life, so all I can say is bad luck.
I always check unexpected answers and if it fits the clue and letters etc I think it only fair to accept it. I wish others did the same.
I hate it when 'it's right but not the one I was thinking of'

Thank you all for your commiserations, which I appreciate, and, having calmed down, I have consoled myself with the fact that all entrants were chasing a prize of only 20. Nevertheless, it would appear that another quiz organiser won it. Oh dear !!!!!!!!!
