Drivers who use a mobile phone while driving annoy the bejesus out of me, but is this criminalizing the car driver a wee bit too much? are they yet again, going after the easy target? Should this kind of technology be used to catch muggers, rapists etc?
much as I dislike smoking, I don't think it interferes with driving. I doubt that eating does either, though I recall a woman was prosecuted for losing control as she went round a corner while eating an apple. Mobiles, yes, definitely: they do distract people from driving, and that's dangerous.
I'm not sure exactly where you'd site a camera like this to catch rapists, though.
as I understand it we already have more CCTVs on our street than any other country in the Milky Way. I've often wondered how many crimes they actually detect, though
There are no longer any excuses for holding a mobile phone while driving. Hands-free kits and bluetooth devices are literally life-savers, although there can still be problems while dialling. I saw our refuse collector lorry driver using his mobile while struggling to control the huge vehicle the other day and I wished I'd taken a photo and sent it to the press.
jail all mobile users and to make room in prisons, we could release real criminals,ie terrorists etc? oh,we already do that. im sure bin laden is working in our `government`. as usual, i blame our `government`
ps, i got a 60 fine a 4 4 points for using my phone. because "i had stopped in the wrong place". shouldve answered it while driving. appealed and won anyway though.
