I am looking for a band I heard.... Help !!

Around Oct 2007 I caught a band mid song on a programme hosted by Phil Jupitus - looked like they were playing at an old town musical type venue (!!) Anyway, I loved the song but missed the band name - The leadsinger was Male, blonde, tall played guitar and was wearing a Fred Perry cricket jumper and their backing singer was a big part of the song -she was black and wore a peaked cap (!), Around 4-5 others in the band. Contemprary sound, Not a lot of info I know !
