Fake baby cough
The piglet has developed (or perhaps discovered) a fake baby cough. I am convinced its not a real cough and that she has just discovered it. Just like the day last week when she discovered she could squeak, it was really cute for the first 5 mins but after an hour or two the novelty wore off.
I have given her some Calcough just as a precaution but cant think what else to do. There is no 'substance' in the cough, she just sticks her tongue out (like you do) and coughs (rather pathetically I might add), her chest is clear and her breathing fine and she brings no sputum up.
Any ideas?
Thanks

I think this is a normal part of baby development - it depends what you do about it.
When babies learn to do anything, parents are thrilled - this includes saying 'Mama', 'Dada', and baby soon learns that doing this new thing gets a great reaction.
Exactly the same applies to coughing - baby finds Mum and Dad pay attention, so it's cool to do it over and over again.
It is just part of development, nothing to worry about, and the novelty will soon wear off.
Wait 'til she finds her ears!

haha, Little CRX went through a fake cough stage. It was OK and we ignored it in the main but one day he managed to get into a tub of sudocrem and eat some. Whilst i was on phone to NHS direct they were asking various questions and one was has he choked or started coughing.
I say no and all you can hear over the phone is little CRX fake coughing and giggling over and over again.
Im amazed the social services werent at my door within minutes.
just leave her to it, shes just discovering what gets reactions and what doesnt and also how to make noises etc. Its cute
