What the BBC don't seem to understand is that if you only take the **** out of BBC people and George Bush you will never be seen as cutting edge by anyone outside of the Edinburgh Television Festival and the Groucho Club. I was so annoyed recently when the Arena programme did a twin documentary evening about Dead Ringers and Just a Minute, as though they were of equal quality and standing. Dead Ringers is junk, pure and simple, just like most "new" BBC comedy.

Hooray! I'm glad it's not just me! When the radio show restricts its targets to Radio 4 presenters it all becomes just a little too cosy and cliquey for my liking; its transfer to TV never worked because the material was not strong enough even though there was a wider range of impersonations
