Yes it is. The exteriors were filmed at The Timberline Lodge on Mt Hood in Oregon.

surely a simple 'shining + overlook' search on google wouldve yielded an answer ?

The Hotel you are looking for is the Stanley Hotel, it is the one that Steven King stayed in that inspired him to write the book "The Shining"
