Watching GMTV this morning I heard Dr Hillary Jones mention that so many thousand (I Think it was around the 100.000 mark) people in the UK have Diabetes but don't know it.

So how does he know?

Maybe he not only has the gift of a girl's name, but the gift of being a seer as well.
He's a very clever man....never under-estimate the power of a doctor.
Good point Ice!

I expect, being a Doctor, he thinks everybody will believe him?
Presumably he based the claim on the known number of new cases diagnosed every year. Obviously, a very large proportion of these people had the disease before their individual GP diagnosed it. So, if his figure was 100,000, my guess is that that - or close to that - is the number of people who don't know yet.
Exactly.....just what I was going to say.....
