My turn for a rant !

"Ice and lemon with that?"

You say, "Yes ... thank you".

And into your glass, the barman plops a wafer thin sliver of lemon, full of pips, which float off into your drink.

GROSS !!

Look, if my pals come round for a G+T, they get a quarter of a lime, with the ends trimmed off, and NO pips.

You can tell a decent bar by the little details. Give me a big wedge of lime, and hey ... I'll keep coming back for more. Give me the pippy little sliver, and I'll ask you to pour me a fresh drink.

That's it. Rant over.

I can beat that at Henley Regatta this year.....asked for tomato juice @ �2.50 in plastic glass. Requested no ice and got, literally, a thimble full!

Lime is the only fruit that should be had with gin. Rim the glass, squeeze a wee bit in and perch it on the side. Lemon is a poor substitute :o)
