Has anyone heard who it is going to be?

Heard them talking about someone earlier on the radio but missed it with the phone ringing.

It's a bit early really. The powers that be probably have an idea but then David Tennant is doing it till 2010 so anything can happen till then.
David Morrissey stars as The Other Doctor in this years Christmas special, but that seems too obvious so...

Chiwetel Ejiofor is also a favourite with the bookies, and they're the best people to trust as if they get it wrong they lose money, more details here.

................Just checked, its actually called " The Next Doctor " which is either a massive clue or a massive red herring.
Paterson Joseph is being rumoured to be the next Doctor Who. In a TV interview with one of his Survivors co-stars, the actor said Paterson is "going to be... potentially, the new Doctor Who"...

... "The Next Doctor" Christmas Special is rumoured to be based on the Big Finish audio Doctor Who story, "The One Doctor"...

... with Christopher Biggins as "The Doctor" (seen in context).
I saw Russell T Davies interviewed at the National Theatre 2 weeks ago, and he said that despite the various rumours, no-one has been cast yet and, when they are, he will have nothing to do with it as he's leaving too. All the names that have been mentioned are just pure rumours.

Ages ago, long before Tennant announced his departure, I thought Rhys Ifans would be good. Funnily enough, he's one of the 'rumours' but nothing to do with me, honest. Now I reckon Richard Coyle would be the best candidate.
I really hope its not Paterson Joseph, he's got all the acting skills of a plank of wood.

I think Richard Armitage from Spooks would be lovely with his brooding looks and simmering tension with an assistant :)
I texted 118 118 this a few weeks ago, out of boredom and curiousity really to see how good 118 118 are, and they said most wagers at William Hill are saying Robert Carlyle! I don't think so.... He is too well known and "Hollywood" now I think.
Talking of Spooks, Rupert Penry Jones has also been suggested. But I think he's too bland.

I'm not a huge fan of Paterson Joseph but think his acting is better than CSI does. I saw him in a stage production last year and he was terrific. But I can't see him as the Doctor.

As usual, we are getting all the predictable nonsense about "why can't it be a woman this time".
