Some oik has keyed our car along with a few others down our street!! I am really angry and majorly peed off. We have a good idea who it was as their little gang think they own this estate and think it's real hard to stand in the way in the road and even sit sometimes as you drive along!
They've taken to hanging out at the top of our road as one of them lives 3 doors away but we can't prove a thing.
Rung the police but not much can be done now. Just don't want to get it repaired and have it happen again. Grrrrr .....
Just needed to vent :o(

No chance of renting a garage or off street parking?
little scrotes!

a 16 year old did about 40 cars here one night, didnt just key them down sides though, he actually scored swear words into the body work so people had no choice but to get them repaired asap.

He did get caught though i dont think he got any real sentence or even fine.

i hope yours isnt too bad and can be touched up easily

Hi Ethel, no unfortunately :o(

My husband is going to see what he can do with it but I said go do it at my Mum's as I don't want them to get the satisfaction of seeing him trying to repair the damage.

Are there no CCTV cameras anywhere that the police or council use to monitor trouble?
The Victims Support group attached to your local Police station should be in touch if you have reported the crime and have been given a crime number, use their services to see what can be done.
The local paper need to know it happened and they should make a story out of it which might make the police respond more positively. tes it is tough to prove once it has happened but they should be focusinbg on crime prevention and making the groups of kids aware they are being anti-social and that there is a no tolerance attitude going on, i thought most police forces had adopted this policy and were very pro-active in most towns and villages at the weekend trying to show a presence to avoid petty crimes like this

Blimey Red thats terrible! Glad he got caught but like you say the sentance is no real deterrant anymore. I'm just hoping maybe someone saw something but not realised what was happening at the time. One of the neighbours isn't up yet so she has a real delight when she surfaces :o(

Hi Dot!
They have passed on all the info to our local police station so we are hoping to hear from them maybe, if not I will get in touch as we seem to get missed out on our estate as it seems so long as the little sods are here causing trouble they aren't else where getting up to no good. (thats how it feels anyway).
I would think this will be in our local paper next week, just waiting to hear if any other cars have been damaged on this estate as we are a dead end road so no reason for anyone to come down this way if they don't live here or aren't visiting someone down here.
sorry to hear this wingnut, they want their fingers breaking,i hope 1 day that they have something they treasure, and someone comes along and damages or steals it,as they say what goes round comes round....................
So sorry to hear that Wingnut. I think we should have laws like they do in Saudi Arabia, where they cut off people's hands if they steal things, and this should include keying honest folks cars as well.

If we all went back to riding horses this could not happen. If you tried to "key" a horse, you would get kicked in the nuts.
^^^Yeah but Jonny the scumbags would just set fire to the stable.
I hate some of the people you see these days, we can't go on like this.
Someone will look at it and say it's only a car and a bit of paint, but it's your car and that's not the only thing they're doing!
When you see these scummy b@stard families being obnoxious you end up with the realisation that the Police will be slow to act (unless they kill somebody and that the council will be slower, you get to the point were you feel like burning them out.
I remember years ago in Manchester a scumbag attacked a blind pensioner whose wife was in a wheel chair in his homethe pensioner stabbed him and he died.
The Police moved them out the next day and the house was promptly burnt down, no charges were brought against him (yay!) so the scumbags wife came on telly talking about justice!?
Scumbags are a strange bunch, they live in a different world to the rest of us.
Start up your own gang and one day if you see them hanging around ring all the neighbours so you all come out the house at once and march towards them. Obviously it would have to be a time when no one is at work etc. like a weekend.

On a serious note I agree with Dot. Try and arrange for some CCTV to go up and act as a deterrant.
hi wingnut, we had a problem a few years ago that sounds similar to yours with a gang of scrote's that used to hang about on our estate, but out of the whole gang only one actually lived on the estate. well one saturday night / sunday morning 6 cars were damaged tyres slashed, paint work damaged ect. and to cut along story short that sunday night as the scrote who actually lived on our estate was leaving the house to meet his scrote mates several men who's cars had been damaged jumped him and kicked the living sh!t out of him.there have been no more cars damaged since !.
tonyav, I like that story, sounds like he got what he deserved!

Hi again everyone, thank you for your replies :o)

When the police get in touch I have told my husband to tell them we want them to come down and talk to us about crime prevention etc and see if they can help us get the council (as it is their house) to put a security light at the front of our house.
Just so miffed this has happened, you work hard and someone thinks they can just come along and damage or steal things that don't belong to them.

I hope your right Stoke and what goes around comes around :o)
I hate kids!

my brother's car was damaged by 2 cute looking little girls.. bless them, they actually scraped their names into the paintwork!

needless to say they were caught. they blamed each other and I'm a little bit shocked to find they're both being taken to court. they're 11 and 12. hopefully it will teach them a huge lesson.

CCTV is probably the answer. ask your Local Authority or the Police Liaison person.

Hiya Sara! Good grief 11 & 12!! That's quite shocking but shows their stupidity that they carved their own names! I hope going to court has scared the crap out of them into not taking the life of crime route.

I'm not sure CCTV would be put in down here, although it should be, infact this has got me thinking about getting in touch with my local MP to see if he can help. I just don't want this to be the start of things happening down here.
Well, JonnyBoy12; you're right they can't 'key' horses but you would be sickened by what they did to ponies in our area with a stanley knife! Little bast**ds.
Good God MM I shudder to think.
You could get your own CCTV fitted, it's quite cheap now, lighting would be an issue for good evidence, if you fit a security light to the house though it'll light up when people walk past your house going home etc. that may prove a little tiresome.
It's funny how some people talk about the "surveillance society" but actually it's probably because we live in a free country that we need it and CCTV is probably one of the few things that actually works to protect our freedom.
My total sympathy - dont you wish you could 'key' them just to see how they like it. They just dont realise how much it costs.
