Remember, there are always two sides to a story. There are bad people in the world but there are also many good and kind people as well. Had this story been full of good people, would it have earned as much as it did for the creators of the film?
The 3 main women that were involved and escaped - they were of course Irish women - I have RTE a southern irish station - and these 3 women were interviewed - now old women - they told the story and it was horrifying - particularly the lady who got her hair cut off by the nun. One of the women never married - she said she was tied down by the laundry and never wanted to be tied down again. The other two ladies married and divorced. Very sad indeed as the nuns got away with it.
Thanks for you views all. Ethel the link was interesting, thanks for that. I agree Lyn, there's 2 sides to every story but this film highlighted the bad. We all know there's good and bad in all but what about the bodies that were found buried in unconsecrated ground in one of the homes? How did the nuns explain that and why would they bury inmates and not register them? Connemara, I watched those women on u tube and my heart went out to them.
