Why so many Bollywood style films?

Why has there been such a recent invasion of bollywood style films? It seems every month there is a new film exactly like the last one which gets great press reviews. Am I alone in thinking that these films are currently at the top of reviews showing ethnic diversity, and different religious beliefs as beneficial as an attempt by the government to snub racial intolerance and promote unity. These films never seem to make any news in the U.S.A. Is it all a ploy to dis courage ill feeling during hostile times with other countries and their religion towards those of the same faith in our country?

Do you mean "Bride and Prejudice" and "The Guru" or any film featuring Asians ("East is East", "Bend it Like Beckham" etc)?

I would have thought that it is far more likely that both types of film are more down to a much healthier attitude to Britain's multicultural society than any sinister plot.

I thought "The Guru" did OK in the US, btw.

Dont know the answer but im sick to death of seeing them on my screen .. All this bollywood is **** and if that is the reason to dis courage during hostile times then it just shows how bad this country ( england ) is becoming.. Get this stuff of my screen now

i live in Canada and the united states as well as our country are also seeing this rise in bollywood movies. My answer would have to be that since india has a billion people going to their movies and much of the filming is not done in india but in Canada, the us and Britain this may be why the rise in popularity. Also as the world changes the world powers seem to gain more of an influence from outside cultures due to the immigration of cultures into their countries. In short the more the interest in these movies the more you are going to see.
