Not Going Out

Was the first series of this on the BBC? When it was on last year with Lee Mack, Tim Vine and the girl from the office (the one who is lives with with David Brent for a bit in series 1), I thought that WAS the first series, but have now noticed on another channel (maybe Dave) that there was a previous series with an American woman!! Did the first series just completely pass me by?

I must admit I only caught the reruns on Dave (or whatever) but it seems it was shown on BBC1 in 2006, more here:

There are so many channels nowadays it is easy to miss shows.
For example I have only just discovered the comedy show "IT crowd" in the third series.
I am a great fan of Father Ted but had no idea this was written by one of the guys who wrote that.
It is exaclty my type of humour (similar to Father Ted) and when More (or some channel) repeated the second series in one evening a week or so back I recorded them all.
The show from the third series, where they all sign up to a networking web site like "Facebook", was hilarious and so true to life.
I am now trying to find the first series to watch that.
