children's programme of late 80s

Does anyone know what I'm talking about.....it used to be on in the early mornings i think on cbbc or perhaps citv, the people in it used to make things with big cardboard boxes, tubes, pots, glue guns etc and at the end they were given a challenge to make something really big and fancy all out of bits of cardboard and plastic, racing against a clock, and then the thing they made started to move/walk/work in some way. Something like that...what was it called?
