I have been given a Virgin V+ Box by someone who has swapped to Sky. I have a standard Virgin Box installed at present. Can I just plug in the V + box or do I have to inform Virgin? Any clues how easy to connect & set up?
All advice welcomed. Thanks in advance HJSUK { :o(])

No

V+ service
V+ must be kept for at least 12 months, unless you are told otherwise by us. In addition there is a 5 a month charge for TV Size: M and L. There is no monthly charge for TV size XL. If your V+ service is terminated, suspended or downgraded for any reason, or if we need to update or change your V+ equipment, you will not be able to access any recorded programmes.Installation charges apply.

The main issue is that these + boxes require 2 connnections so that they can recieve 2 signals.

Another thing - the V+ box is not your friend's to give away.

Virgin actually own it, and they will want it back, or charge your friend for it if they can't get it back
How can Virgin charge you 150 for the box and then say its not your property? In regard to just the V+ box surely its like sky, you buy the box its your box.

Probably the same reason that when my friend gave Virgin 2 wks notice of moving house they turned up 6pm after he moved and told him there was a problem and that he would have to re-book the install.......they gave him a date of 3 weeks (imagine being without TV, phone and Net for all that time!!!). He called Sky and they were there within 4 days.
We all may have thought ntl was poor service but Virgin have proved how good they were....Thanks Mr Branston!
