Having watched Coronation Street "trial" I was a bit confused by the following:

A case taking 4 weeks to get to court

The Star witness being in a realtionship with the person assaulted - it wouldnt even have got to court

The charge was malicious wounding - how could it be when there were no weapons used?

Surely the cast wouldnt have warranted a jury?

Wouldn't the judge have dismissed the case as soon as Tina admitted lying?

I know its only a soap but every aspect of it was totally wrong

Put the lot in jail for bad acting .the thug david looks about as dangerous a girl of nine when she as 6.

Lol totally agree about David. I've seen scarier beanie babies
they wouldnt have dismissed it as yes she lied but he still beat David up pretty bad. and you dont need a weapon to Maliciously wound someone. But apart from that load of crap. She ran out straight away, they should arrest her surely for lying
According to Corrie all the girls in Manchester are beautiful, everyone speaks 'nicely', they go to the caf for breakfast, they go to the pub every lunch time and evening, and there are no kids playing in the street. Oh yes, champagne flows freely in the Rovers for any excuse and drinkers often leave their drinks unfinished.
I know this is so story lines can be run so it is no surprise that court cases are more like fairy tales.
Well, Corrie still entertains me regardless, which is more than I can say for all the other soaps.

I suppose if it were real to true life then it would be totally boring. Imagine if there were a huge length of time before the court case, we would have forgotten what it was all about!!

None of the soaps are true to real life are they!? Numerous murders, fires, plane crashes, all within a 100 sq.yd. area!

I know lottie but they basically made up every aspect lol
Morning Jimmy :o)

Mornin Lottie ;-)

Plus I would liek to drink in a pub where the bar staff bring the drinks over to you....
Lofty - I agree. I enjoy it (but I would deny that face to face!!). But it is a fairy story.
all corrie girls are beautiful??? Where are you looking? not in the factry thats for sure lol
They still do in lots of country pubs around us (out in the sticks) Jimmy. But then they probably don't have many customers. Bliss!!!

Sandmaster, Mr LL denies that he watches Corrie, but somehow seems to know exactly who's who and what is going on!
I have to say, I thought the same, regarding the short amount of time it took to get to trial. It's the same with Emmerdale, Debbie's trial for murder ocurred in a couple of weeks or so.
Not a fan of Corrie but watched early AM recently. Two women in pub, ? & Eileen. ? (the 60ish woman) admits to sex at 14!! very enlightening for young viewers!

The cast appear to buy bleach hair dye in bulk?
4getmenot - I did say girls - not the old hags!!
emmerdale was worse in their story line bloody farcicle i work in a large hospital and no way would anyone be able to get away with that, (about getting debs out )i know story lines are not true to life as an earlier comment made, it would be so boring nobody would watch any soap but sometimes even these go way over the top in farce
Sue Cleaver who plays Eileen is only 45, not in her 60's!
yes I would include the girls. Fizz, Rosie, that tall black girl all munters
velvetee, debbie hasnt gone to trial yet
Question Author
Gina - think debbies trial is 2nite
Can someone please remind me where Karen, Steve's wife, went off to? I know they got divorced, but I can't remember where she went.

Thanks folks.
