i think its good but its getting a lot of negative press.

basically if u are a fan of the alien or predator series' you'll enjoy the film.the fighting isnt what i expected tho !

Well, its a certificate 15 and the only 'star' in the cast is Ewen Bremner who played Spud in Trainspotting.  Lets just say I won't be rushing to see it.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! I watched this while on holiday and it was the biggest pile of pants.  Although not a huge alien/predator obsessive I have enjoyed most of the other films.  My BF IS a huge fan and he agreed that it was just an attempt to take the mickey (and �5.95 each) out of fans who will go to see it. 

PS.  I am a v. girly girl; I screamed at Shaun of the dead, and there was not one scene that was minorly tense let alone frightening.

Actually I'd say this... If you are a fan stay away because it changes everything and doesn't really fit in. If you just like action then it's ok and it is kinda nice to see the two giants of sci-fi slug it out. Personally I wasn't impressed though.

I love films, and some of my favourites are the first 3 aliens, now i was told by many people that film was terrible but i went to see it anyway. How right they were, the script was one of the worst iv ever heard, and because it was a 15 the gore was none existent. The plot was stupid and it lacked consistency, in the first films the alien took hours to burst out of the human, but in this film it took a matter of minutes. Sorry about this rant but what I'm trying to say is don't go and see it.

its rubbish compared to the first three. No atrmosphere, rubbish characters, no tension, no scares.

Man on fire
Oldboy
Hero
Good films out on dvd now
Dawn of the dead (new version is surprisingly good and scary!)
The cooler
Chronicles of Riddick is quite a good sci fi film and miles better than avp.

A friend of mine who is a big Alien fan said it was just over hyped.He said there's a couple of good scenes but apart from that there's nothing special about it.
