My daughter has just rang to ask if there is an official 2 minute silence for the 9/11 or is it just up to the people in shops to hold this out of respect.
i think it would be very respectful to hold a 2 mins silence but it should be done on the 7th of july as well to remember all those who died in the bus bombs in london dont you agree ?
I don't know if there is an official one but I don't think it matters, if you want to take 2 minutes to reflect, pray, think of others then you should. I do it for 9/11, rememberance day and also on the day that I saw someone killed because I want to.
I don't think BabyApe's answer was ignorant at all.
It was very much the opposite and showed an understanding of the wider issues
surrounding the crass hypocracy of holding respectful silence for those on "Our"
side whilst blindly ignoring the thousands of innocents who perished in our vengence.
The idea that someone is ignorant if they have a different view from you and upsets you
by expressing it is not ignorant either - but it is arrogant
