Only A Thoery last night

Did anyone else catch this programme on BBC 4? There was a chap on - I think he was Dr ( or Professor ) de Guy - who was proposing the theory that the first 1000 year-old person may already have been born. His theory made a lot of sense but the outstanding thing about him was his beard which at first sight I thought MUST have been fake but after a minute or so I realised that it was real.
IT WAS AMAZING and reached more than halfway down his front. He also had a moustache that on its own would have been a talking point but was dwarfed by the magnificence of his beard. He wouldn\'t have looked out of place in Lord of the Rings.
