For some time now I've being trying to remember the name of an american stand up comedian from the late seventies. I can picture him in my head but for the life of me cant think of a name - first name could begin with A. I remember his comedy was commenting on everyday occurances. Not much to go by but any ideas ?

where did you used to see him peri? lots of American Comedians starred on the Andy Williams Show, The RAY Stevens show, laugh In or The Flip Wilson show
Since you can picture him, can you give some sort of description?

No none of those - I remember him doing stand up on telly when nobody else was doing observational comedy - its been bugging me for months now - any time I try to think of his name all I come up with is Audie Murphy the actor
was it Alan Sherman peri?

the best ever american stand-up was George Burns.....but it won't be him....he must have been about 106 in the 1970's......

No not him craft - for me bob newhart was great - very dry but not him either
Not a lot to go on, but could it be Kelly Monteith? An american comedian who had a show on the BBC for a couple of years in the late 1970s?
