Hello AnswerBankers :)
I was wondering if you can help me with this essay type of thing that I've got to write about Jaws. It is on the 1st Jaws film. I've written quite a lot of it already but I'm just stuck on this bit...
'Describe how the shark is connected to the music in the title sequence.'
Now i understand what it means/trying to get but I don't know how to explain/describe it?
Any ideas anyone?
(The title sequence is the bit at the beginning where it has the Jaws music; dun dun dun dooo)
Thanks x

The music resembles a large beating heart
The shark moves silently and invisibly through the water, the music establishes, for the audience, a 'signature sound' for the shark for the rest of the movie. They hear the music and know the shark is present even though they may not see it. This heightens dramatic tension.
Possibly compare the music to other films which use, for example, the villain's approaching footsteps, heard but not seen, for dramatic effect
