We had a new digital aerial installed yesterday and the man also wired our system up so that our SKY TV in our living room could be received in other rooms in the house. He tuned everything in for us and it is all working tickety boo nearly everywhere. However, we bought a new Samsung LCD TV yesterday for our bedroom. It is successfully picking up all our digital channels but we have been unable to find our SKY channels. We are sure that it is just a question of finding the right button on our remote control but have been able to find anything. We contacted the fitter last night who said he would pop by but so far he hasn't (we will chase him again). He assures us that everything is fitted the way it should be (there is some kind of 'eye' thing fitted). We tuned the new TV in ourselves. Can anyone shed any light on where we are going wrong? P.S this is NOT SKY multiroom but just a way of viewing the same SKY channels being watched simultaneously in other rooms.
When you change tv channels does it say DTV in the top left corner?
if it does you are watching the digital TV channels, press the TV button again and it will switch to the analogue TV channels which is where you'll find sky.
I know there is no such thing as a digital aerial. As I was typing it I was thinking 'I bet some wise ass will correct me here' (enter stage left VHG in role of said wise ass who contributed nothing constructive to the conversation) but I couldn't be bothered changing it.
Anyway, thanks to the other helpful replies. Chuckfickens you were spot on. My problem is solved!!! Many thanks!
Try tunning the Sky channel into a spare Analogue channel rather than a Digital channel. That's what I have done with the TV in our bedroom. and it works perfectly.
oops don't know what went wrong there. My other post was sent ages ago I was just checking if you'd got it sorted. Looks as though by looking again "released"it
