Actually, I would hate people to come into my house and change it all. A home sort of develops and it might not be perfect but it usually reflects the people that live in it. To have a team of bodgers come is and change everything would give me a nervous breakdown - even if it was all perfect.
I'm quite evilly waiting for when she comes home and goes "OHHHHH MAAAAAA GAAAAAAD its gorgeous" whilst inside she's thinking "I wonder how much a painter and decorator costs?"
I'd love it to be honest Lottie, my idea od decorating is that. Me Bog off for the day and come home and it's all beautified. Unless I get that wallpaper of course.
Yep, I preferred the room before. The murals were OK. However, I would have just given the room a coat of pain. It looked awful and those red gingham curtains - well........... words escape me!!
mmm, well, do bear in mind the clients seem happy enough with it, and you can't ask more of a designer than that. They wouldn't necessarily have done Chez Lottie in quite the same hues. The only thing that seemed all wrong to me was the horizontal wallpaper. Bright colours are fine for a family that likes bright colours (and if they'd done the previous living room themselves, to look like a crime scene with blood all over the walls, it was a fair bet they did like bright colours.)
The place looked better before the makeover, the lampshade wallpaper was dreadful, designer said she wanted the place to look retro and fresh if that 's what retro is I'll keep my house as it is! All that colour in the kids bedroom was awful! No room on the new settee to sit down as there were eight or more cushions, I do like cushions but that was a bit much!
