las vegas tv series

i may be totally wrong here but in the first series of 'las vegas' it looked like the montecito was next to the luxor and now it is across the road near the airport. in some programmes it seems to be in different locations altogether!  where is it, i know it's not 'really real' but i have visited vegas (love it) and don't understand.  also how do they get those great shots whizzing down corridors into lifts etc?
