I thought the effects were brilliant, a viewing experience no doubt, but I was dissapointed in the story. Could just as well have been Alan Ladd in "Shane", same old story done a 1000 times in every genre, ok good idea with the body shift device but even that is ripped off from stargate universe, then there's the loader rip off from Aliens, interconectivity? The matrix? and even "unobtanium" was from the appalling "The Core". Without the effects and action sequences, it's 5/10 max but I gave it 7 on IMDB in recognition of the viewing experience. Too long, story too familiar.

Ok Geezer...I thought the story line was crap. But the effects were good. I wanted to leave half way through though..
Giant smurfs in space.... I thought it was absolute rubbish but the special effects were very good and I liked a lot of the animals. The tails 'plugging' in to nature was a bit sinister to my way of thinking but I'm probably just being mucky minded.
got it on bluray when it first came out and got bored part way through so only watched about half.

But got a new TV at xmas so watched it in 3d last week and actually enjoyed it, the effects were great and really good in 3d.
I thought it was good. Yes, the story was nothing new, but I don't think it really mattered, the visuals were so stunning.
Half the people on here saying it was rubbish probably thought the latest 'sex and the city' movie was brilliant, or some sh1te like that.
