Hello

I am an ex customer of sky but I still have the box. Do you know if there is a way that I could use the box as a freeview / freeview hd receiver via normal tv aerial.

Many thanks.

No, cos it's satellite, not aerial. Freeview is over the air.
You can use your Sky+HD box & Sky Dish to receive Sky Freesat channels, leave your Sky card in the box, you wil get most Freeview channels on Freesat plus BBC1 HD, BBC HD,ITV HD, CH4 HD.
None of the recording features will work on the box without a valid sky subscription though.
All you need to gain access to the free channels available on the digital satellite platform is a Freesat from Sky viewing card, which costs just £25. If you’d like to access the interactive services available, you’ll also need a working phone line. To purchase a viewing card please phone Sky on 08448 244 400.
how old is your tv? does it have freeview built in ?
Although as ChuckFickens says, you cannot use Rec on box,I have my DVD Recorder connected & can record stuff by playing back from the HD box & recording to the DVD Rec.
Sorry to correct you Naz, I am using old Sky card for Freesat, you do not need to buy until old card is due for renewal. Ron.
Ah the OP said they were an ex customer. I assumed they had no valid card.
