I just watched it, and in my opinion these people are the scum of the earth. They will steal the sugar out of your tea, and seem to have no shame. I used to work in a pub that they came to and they would start fights for no reason, and you can't reason with them, all they understand is a good right hand.
The trailer (sorry no pun intended...) for next week looks even better. Can't wait. It's like they live on another planet ! The girls dance like they should be working for Peter Stringfellow and they aren't even allowed to go out with boys ... amazing.
Strange though it may seem, given that the girls are not allowed with boys alone before marriage, the bride at the wedding in our hotel, was just 16, and 3 months pregnant!................they had to wait for her 16th birthday to get wed!..........
I can't understand how, if the parents are so strict about boys, etc, why those same parents let the girls out looking like they do. It doesn't make sense to me at all.
No you are right Naz. I typed a long reply and it was so incoherent I have up. Had a reason tonight o get sozzled. But actually you know me better than anyhone one here.

Where did anyone get the idea that they are Gypsies?

maybe because of the title of the programme Naz..
I repeat ... Where did anyone get the idea that they are Gypsies?
... and I don't mean anyone here, I mean ANYONE.
Gypsies, Travellers, all the same. arrogant , rude and think they can do what they want.

Spare me post on them not being the same please Naz.
Why, can't you handle it?
I know a few....or did..
What the hell does that mean Naz?
From a government website

The term "gypsies and travellers" means:

"persons with a cultural tradition of nomadism or of living in a caravan; and all other persons of a nomadic habit of life, whatever their race or origin, including:

(i) such persons who, on grounds only of their own or their family's or dependant's educational or health needs or old age, have ceased to travel temporarily or permanently; and

(ii) members of an organised group of travelling showpeople or circus people (whether or not travelling together as such)."
Irish Travellers and Gypsies seem to have taken on the same meaning these days. Language changes.

Anyway, they seem to be rather a priviledged group to me. Protected by the law more than I will ever be!!
-- answer removed --
Protected by the law in the sense that they can get away with so much and live outside the laws of this land more than any other group of people. Probably there is a better way of describing it.
Not so much protected by the law but to live outside the laws of the land. What other groups can do that without being penalised if doing it openly?
Pikeys - No coincidence that it rhymes with ''do as you likeys''
Exactly Naz
