Why don't the contestants dress up in their best togs before appearing on these shows?

I wouldn't go down the garden in the clothes that they wear.

I can understand it in ''The Weakest Link', they don't want to out-dress Anne Robinson, (which wouldn't be hard)

well done squarebear, i used to love 15-1, goos luck with The Chase to, like mazie if I was braver i'd like to try that one.

I do agree that some contestants leave a lot ot be desired in the general knowledge stakes, and if i was on telly I think I would make the effirt to dress nicely too!
i will do - if you go to my FB and look for my dad, you will see what i mean!
Thanks fluff will do.....come on chelle, lets be brave and give it a go. We can wear our gold lame catsuits ;o)
You've got until March to pluck up enough courage to enter.
Anyone watch The Chase tonight.....nightmare, not one question correct
I completed the application form for The Chase recently, they want to know so much! - I almost didn't bother as I kept on getting interrupted whilst trying to complete it, but struggled on, now it's just a case of sit back and wait :)
I almost fell into his trap but I quite like it here.
'' I haven't got a TV set, so I never saw how I came over on screen.''

Pull the other one bookbinder!!!!!!
I never expected AOG of being one of the Fashion Police.
Mazie, I watched it too last night.

Bradley Walsh: What barrier was Chuck Yeager the first to break?
Contestant: The Thames.

I nearly wet myself!
LOL me too squarebear. You see, I would worry that I would freeze and get none of the questions right !

Many failed contestants have said "I am normally very good at general knowledge, and can answer most questions when I am at home, but with all the lights and the tension my mind went completely blank".

Excuses or the truth? But it must be daunting standing up there in the studio knowing that thousands are watching your every movement.
Excuses I would say. I wasn't phased by the cameras and don't see how it can just turn you into a dribbling loon. However, there was no studio audience when I was on TV. That might make a difference.
Yes AOG, that's what deters me, I think being in front of camera and with pressure on I would freeze up. Shame becuase I would love to have a go!
Having said that sometimes when they claim 'good general knowledge' I do have to wonder what their definition is.....
Did you make an effort to look smart squarebear ? (getting back to the original post)
We can wear our gold lame catsuits ;o)

lol just noticed that - what do you reckon AOg would the catsuits pass?
C'mon then chelle and mazie, let's sign up for The Chase. You never know, we might end up on the same team!
Sorry yes, the thread does seem to have gone off course.

I wore a smart pair of trousers and a shirt, as though I was going out for a meal say. They only asked that I didn't wear anything with advertising on, so no football shirts etc.

Gold lamé catsuits should be fine :-)
I'll have another look at the application this evening squarebear...It sounds as though there is an audience on this show?
