I have a collection of old 35mm film slides and would like to scan them to my computer, so that I can save, view and/or print them as pictures. There are many sources advertising slide scanners, but they all seem rather complicated (unless you're sure what you are looking for!) and there are big variations in prices. I haven't seen anything about how one actually connects a slide scanner to a PC, or whether I would have to remove the films from their plastic frames? If anyone has experience of this, your advice would be much appreciated. Thanks.
Yes .. the old way .. like using an enlarger.
Some scanners (like my Canon Lide80) has a slide holder .. works ok.
To get best results, will need unmounting tho.
Unfortunately I don't have a slide projector so can't photograph them - but it's a good idea. Looks as though I shall have to invest in something new, probably with a USB connection, but it's a bit of a problem deciding which one.
