The Archers - Old Characters New Actors
It has been hinted (on the facebook page - make of it what you will) that some of the actors playing certain roles are to be changed.
Has anyone else heard about this?

He said "I think there was an issue with the younger actors who have been recruited, not from drama schools, but from local community groups. What I have been doing is bringing in slightly older actors to play younger characters, because they have been trained and know what they are doing."
That seems barmy to me, the actors were all doing fine as far as I am concerned. Tom Graham (Tom Archer) says he's been "deposed" and thinks his character will return with a new voice.

I feel I must step in and defend David Troughton. He is a very experienced actor and is making a fine job of Tony Archer. It can't have been easy taking over the role from another actor, but he is very convincing.
Perhaps genetics is playing a helpful part here......he is, after all, the son of Patrick Troughton, who knew a thing or two about taking over a role from a former actor, being Doctor Who Mark 2 !

I wonder how far down the line the scriptwriters are going to take this story of David, Ruth, et all decamping oop north ? I can't believe that they willáctually do this, so what is the writers get-out clause ?
My prefered option is that Ruths Mum has a fall and dies, then there wouldn't be an overriding reason to move so far north. But I expect Route B will be changed at the last minute.
Agree about Helen...whiney doesn't even come close to describing her !
