Yes...that is right. The father left it to David, with the proviso that if the farm was sold, a proportion would go to Shula, Kenton and Elizabeth.
He did this because David was the one who put all the effort into the day-to-day running of the farm and he therefore deserved the lions share. Phil had a horror of seeing the farm go to rack and ruin and thought David was the best guarantee that it would remain intact and a going concern.
Last night was interesting, when Shula and Elizabeth were told that the farm
was not now going to be sold ( sorry if I am spoiling anybodies Sunday morning listening here ! ) To be honest, it was a bit of a damp squib, as they didn't seem to mind and actually sounded relieved !
Kenton, of course, will be gutted but nobody much will really cares. He is very much the black sheep of the family and didn't really feature very much in the program until some time ago. If he b******d off to the Antipodes sometime soon, on a permanent basis, nobody will shed a tear !
The issue of the farm for Ruth is very different. She now blames Jill, who in the past has been closely related to Mother Teresa, in the fact that she can do nothing wrong whatsoever ! Which is a terribly shame, as she is my favourite character in Ambridge. I wish she would bake me a cake.
On a side note, someone told me the other day that Ambridge doesn't really exist and it was all done in a studio in Brum ! What nonsense ! I distinctly heard a cow go moo last week, and how the ruddy heck could you get a cow into a studio ?
