What a sad man I am. I can remember Archers stories from 15yrs ago, yet, I can never find my car keys:-)
I'm backing UK SWF - he'll turn up, but after Linda has taken on a problem dog from the RSPCA.
^^^ So what makes you any different from the rest of us melv?
Here you go Mikey

Bye the way, was scruff a silent character or was he/she ever heard?
For Mikey - As I remember: Shula bore Dan posthumously, Richard was the village doctor. Dan suffered from (I think) childhood rheumatic fever and Shula and married doctor Richard got together. Much scandal and she had to come clean about the affair when she married and current husband Alistair and she wanted to adopt.
Hope that helps. Dan seems to have made a great recovery from a debilitating childhood illness!
Thanks everybody....memory well and truly jogged !

Oooo Rob snapped at Henry because he wouldn't eat his mushroom stroganoff and wanted fish fingers. And Helen sided with her son eeek! Unravelling is our Rob. Next week he will be producing the "goods" (ahem) for his paternity test. Bring it on:-))
I think they've all forgotten about poor Scruff, not been mentioned for what seems like ages. You'd better be right UKSWF and Jourdain, I haven't given up yet either.
BTW Jourdain //Shula bore Dan posthumously\\ Do you really mean that?
And thanks for the memories from those with better memories than me.

We're beginning to see Rob in his true light now that Helen is getting interested in the village shop. Just hope he doesn't break her heart (I'm such an old softie).
Mark Hebden was Dan's father. I think he fell off a horse before Dan was born.

Posthumously means occurring after one's death (post meaning after) but Shula is still alive is what I'm getting at. Having a pedantic day.
Pardon me for posting:-/

Don't be daft melv, not having a go at you at all:-) I was just teasing jourdain that's all. As I said, I'm having a pedantic day.
Sorry ladybirder. I got hold of the wrong end of stick:-)

Forgotten. x
I thought Mark was killed in a car crash?
Question Author
Was Mark Dan's father? I remember someone (male) driving and took a phone call from partner/wife and died as a result of taking the call?
Yes, Mark was Dan's father. Jim is his (Mark's) father.
If the dog hasn't been found yet, then it is dead... imo.

Thanks HW, that explains it.

Talbot, I need a body before I'll believe that. I think they've all forgotten about him poor boy. He hasn't been mentioned for weeks.
