I bought 2 items in Tesco earlier costing £6.34. I gave the girl 7 pound coins. On my receipt it said I had tendered £40 and received £33.66 change. How could she confuse £7 for £40? I only received £3.66 change. Is this some kind of fiddle?

You need to report this to the management. In all likelihood the cashier is pocketing the rest of the "change". Although how the till will balance at the end of the day is beyond me!
Well, haven't you been given too much change, for starters?
You were lucky, you should only have had 66 pence change.
Not sure if the cashier's keypad is laid out with the 7 above the 4? Mistakes are easily made, after all. I think I did a typo - once - possibly:)
Go back tomorrow with the receipt and the things you bought, and ask to speak to the manager. Could be a pocketer, as bimbo suggests.
I would keep quiet if I were you ar you will have to pay money back if you were given £3.66
Sometimes I press the wrong amount at work aswell but I always notice and work out the correct change. Our till is a touchscreen and is just a slip on the finger. She should have pointed out the mistake to you though :)

Till will balance.£40.00 minus £33.66 equals £6.34 the cost of goods purchased.
She wont be stealing any money. The till will be down on money cos she gave you too much change. If she had given you the correct change all the numbers would still have been okay because it all goes through a computer, if you know what I mean? I checked this cos I panicked the first time I pressed it :)
I don't see a problem. The till will balance (assuming no discrepancies at other times). I can't see any possible fiddle
erin I do the same; people look at me very strange as I often type in say 10.00 then they give me the odd 8p or whatever so I type 10.08 and it turns to 100001.08!
not a fiddle, no different if you gave her £11.34 so you didnt get lots of change back. Will all add up
It's so easy to do! I always make sure I tell them because I get nervous incase they come back and say I short changed them! The shop would do a till check but someone one day will try their luck! lol
