Of course not...but this has got me thinking...isn't it about time that we had a female Bond villain?

I don't mean a Rosa Kleb character, but the chief villain. Seems crazy after all this time that Bond hasn't had a female foe.

I know how people feel about a black Bond and a female Dr Who, but surely it'd be okay to have a strong female lead villain?

Tilde Swinton
Angela Bassett
Gillian Anderson
Viola Davis
Cate Blanchett

They could all work.

hey SP, did you not rate Grace Jones as either
a) strong or
b) female
??
Or Diane Abbott? As long as Bond blows her up of course.( No, not like Del boys doll)

She already been in a Bond movie - as May Day in A View to a Kill, so it would be unfair to have her again.

And she was a henchwoman, rather than the main protagonist in that film.
Dawn French ... ?
sunny dave

Would they have to rename it ' tubby bond '
I think she'd make an excellent villain - sitting in a big chair stroking her (ahem) cat ...
the female villain would have to be one that Bond wouldn't bed.

Now, a female Bond and a female villain, well, I daren't comment further.....

Yes...she would have to be older, but not too old. Actually Meryl might work.
She'd be too vulnerable to being seduced.
Short film, not feature.
Lena Headley

a gay male Bond or a straight female one, then?
Personally I rate Grace Jones as weird.
Just a personal opinion.
Oh, I think Miriam Margolyes could be really scary.......x
What about Corrie's Tracy - now there's a scheming, evil, rhymes with itch, if i ever saw one.
//a gay male Bond or a straight female one, then? //

a basic character tenet of Bond as created by Fleming is that he's a womaniser. neither a gay bond nor a female bond would be, well, bond, and the whole character of the stories would change. a gay or female secret agent? hey why not. but they wouldn't be bond.
Kristin Scott Thomas was pretty good in Only God Forgives (at looking evil)

Warning: rude words!

Alison King (Carla) now that she's left Corrie !

I would agree with Lena Headley...if she weren't so beautiful. albaquerty is right about the villain being a woman that bond wouldn't necessarily want to bed.

...and Lena certainly doesn't fit that bill.
