I am watching this series with mixed feelings, obviously they need to keep their culture alive but oh those awful wedding dresses have to be seen to be believed ! Dare I ask where all the money comes from ?
We now have a council site for them only a few miles away. And yes there was a lot of objection, but the council really don't have any choice in the matter. The site has been there less than six months and already there are real crime problems because of it.
I didn't watch any telly last night as it was my husband's birthday (the big one), but I'm going to watch it on iplayer now, so thanks for reminding me Dee.
(BTW, I wholeheartedly agree with your comments Lottie)!
maybe they have multiple identities when they claim benefit and don't want to be identifird for real? How's that for a conspiracy theory/unfounded accusation?
Am just sitting here thinking about the artificial colour of the Bride's mother last night. She would frighten anybody on a dark night with that pale lipstick!! Not a gypsy though!!!
did she, i don;t remember that, i know its not what the programme is about but i'm curious and it would be nice to have a programme exploring those issues, focusing on the lives of the older women, more complete picture rather than the fantasical picture we are being shown.
Mccfluff, it said at the end of the programme that next week's programme is about what it's like to be a woman in that society. should be interesting...
The 21 year old woman who was losing her home and her cousin, the lad with the grown up attitude, were far more interesting than the air head child brides and the doting women. But again, where were the men?
Lottie - the Mother of the Bride looked more like a gypsy than the gypsies :0 (
I remember in last week's programme when the two girls were talking about what they want in a husband, one of the qualities, was one that didn't beat you .....
