I had to chose between keepng my other son dan or my new baby. I lived in a very small country town where I was beaten up for dating his father and being pregnant!! I wanted to somehow give him a better life and it ripped my heart out that I had to give him up and I tried everything I could to keep him. I have never stopped loving my son, my marriage didn't survive because I could never forgive my husband for me having to give him up. As for your comment that I wouldn't have looked for him if I was still with my husband who are you to say that it wouldn't have made any difference. Why would I write a letter telling him I would always be here if he wanted to find me, maybe if you watched again you will hear his adopted mum say that she always promised to bring him back to me. I want you to know I have had so many mesaages from complete strangers on facebook all so kind, non judgemental and full of support, also from complete strangers in the street, I then read your blog and oh my it hurt so much but I suppose 1 comment out of 100's of kind non judgemental ones isn't bad.
debeades if I am ready this correctly you have been involved in this show, can you please explain how much of their research process you were a party to and what agencies they have told you they used? what was the timeline? did it take along time after your first response to their advert for people who wanted contact with lost relatives?
Glad it has worked for you.

Yes I am involved with the story it was my story last Thursday, I am going to USA to see my lovely son again next Monday and can't wait although have a few butterflies.
I contacted the programme makers last June they then work with an independant social worker who does all the searching, I believe, they found my sonin the mid October, he was told then but I was not told until December because they wanted to tell me after my wedding. Jonathan said it was so difficult having to wait so long and not being able to contact me. We then met in January this year ad spent 4 days together which was lovely like a dream come true, both families, his adopted one and his birth family reunited it was a big party weekend :)
I must also add the TV company were very professional and handled everything with great care, we had to be assessed by psychologists before and after the whole process.

Thank you and yes he is beautiful inside and out, he has not an ounce of resnetment or anger towards me, all he has shown me is complete love and understanding. I can't believe how lucky I am, I never imagined this would be the outcome, I feel like I am in a wonderful dream I just hope I don't wake up. x
