Anyone remember this? It's being remade, wonder if it will be as good, well, not that it was good, just that it was so bad you had to watch it.

But it was about the only thing on TV at that time of night so you were kind of stuck with it (was at uni at the time and the only one with a colour TV so it ws on constantly).

It was Sherr, I used to watch it a lot, the acting was atrocious if I remember rightly.
Aw jeez Lizzie! It was a worse habit than some drugs. :)
Top show, Queen B was top dog, literally

Meg the softest prison guard ever alongside vinegar tits
Some prison. The walls were so shoogly a good sneeze and everyone would have been out! Wasn't there a musical version on in the West End a while ago?
I dont think they should remake it! part of the charm was the cheapness of the production :o
Apparently, we're related to Bea... Thrilled my gay brother to bits... and I loved the Lizze quote ' bugger me backwards'.. aww... is tonight remembering popped mums..? and potential nearly popped friends...?
who could forget "vinegar tits"................It will never be the same!
All together now.......

I saw the West End version a few years ago, Lily Savage was in it, wasn't much better than the TV show albeit funnier.
While I agree there was some terrible acting there was also some amazing stuff;kylie foster as Angela Adams, maggie fence as bev baker, carol burns as frankie Doyle and the bloke who plays alf Stewart in home and away as a bomber. And yes there was a west end show-the version I saw had maggie Kirkpatrick reprising the freak and lily savage.
Youay have guessed I slightly loved this show :)
Worring that I knew nearly all the words.. hee hee.. oh those Friday nights... (obvs no bloody boyfriend - what's new!!)
It was compulsive viewing! Thanks jackthehat for the video...........it all came back to me!
Oh noooooo! I hated PCBH, so I won't be watching it - what a waste of money!
Did some of them break out and reform as Home and Away ?
Shocking sets, dreadful dialogue, unbelievable characters and completely unrealistic storylines.

If you want a modern equivalent, I give you NCIS - looks good, but so bad it's funny.
I use to watched that late at night and was pretty hooked on it. Until recently I discovered a Japanese movie series called 'Female Convict Scorpion Jailhouse made in 1972 which had the similar premise with female prisoners. It's quite obivous where Australian TV network got their ideas from.
