This is usually a very interesting program apart from last night when it concentrated on Patrick Stewarts' father for the whole show. It's supposed to be about researching family trees, not a biography of just one person. It became boring and rather tedious.
I thought that too dave50, I love this programme and even missed some of the opening ceremony of the paralympics to watch it. Not a patch on last weeks.
I missed last night's show, although I'm usually an avid fan. Sounds like I didn't miss much. I believe the researchers do a lot of work on both sides of the family, and then the producers just go with whatever they think is the most interesting branch of the family, with the most skeletons in the cupboard and mysteries to be solved. Sounds like Patrick Stewart's rellies were all a bit dull then.
Yes, it was quite interesting but the material didn't merit the length of time devoted to it. I found it disappointing because the programme was not in the format of the others in the long established series. Surely the man had other ancestors whose history was of some interest? Other subjects of the programe do, though more time may devoted to some ancestors than to others
