Before I start, I want to say that I loved the first series of Accused and I also enjoyed episodes one and two of this series.
However, episodes three and four were dreadful, and the biggest crime therein was John Bishop's acting, something that was more wooden than a forest. The factual inaccuracies of the fourth episode were truly beyond belief and Bishop just became more and more wooden as we went on.
I didn't find him quite as unwatchable as you but maybe it was becasue he was carried so well by his co-stars, Sheridan Smith in episode 3 and Anna Maxwell Martin in the conclusion. They were both oustanding even with a weak script.
I thought they were all thoughtful and thought provoking - what are the consequences of hiding the truth? Bishop was poor acting, but perhaps what he was brought in to portray was a man utterly out of his depth. And, whatever the "factual inaccuracies" were, they didn't detract from the overall effect. Cracking series.
watched this and didnt relise it was carrying on from last week!! senior moment i think. i love john bishop and can forgive him anything but last weeks was definately better!
I've only seen this latest series and I've enjoyed it all. I didn't understand why the prisoner officer in the final one didn't report the rape though. did I miss something?
