For Heavens sake - how much more irritating can Ruth Goodman get!
Why does she talk as though she lived through the war, and experienced the hardships ? She wasnt born until 1963! And why does she always ask someone who has lived through it a question, and then promptly tells them the answer before they can speak! Nor can I imagine a farmers wifes prancing through the fields wearing a tweed suit, (and STOCKINGS during the war?) The only person who looks as though he actually does something is Peter Ginn, at least he gets dirty!!

Quite agree, she has a very annoying manner. a bit of a know it all!

Oh mata, I do agree with you. She is so over the top especially when she laughs, which is often. It's basically a good programme (like the others they have done) and she knows her stuff but as you say she tells people what it was like to live through the war and they actually did! Even when she's on the One Show she's not much better. Can the woman not wear a tiny bit of make-up? just a smidge of lippy would do!

I love Ruth. She really throws herself into it and has fun and she laughs all the time. She's great.

I like her and all the team, the other programmes they have been involved with have been very informative.

I find her a bit smug, but overall the programme is very good. I've learnt a lot about wartime farming. Interesting to compare it to modern methods.

Aww, i like the programme and her. For someone who hasn't lived through the war it's really fascinating.
