I really like this series but they started at episode 2.
There was a pilot and an episode 1. Does anyone
know why they did that and if those two episodes are
available anywhere.

The pilot is listed as Episode 1 by wiki.

I just checked the wiki entry for the pilot episode and that was the one I watched as the first episode on Watch. Good series,pity it's been cancelled.
