I was never a fan of Cilla, but I love Sheridan Smith so will be watching this tonight. Looks really very good! ITV 9.00pm!

Anyway - what was so wondrous about Cilla (tho I do like her).

Elina it was a very exciting era in the 60s, not just for music. There was a club in my town that emulated The Cavern, ie in sweaty cellars with live groups belting out music. My mates and I used to get in free if we worked in the cloakroom or on the coffee bar, (no alcohol in this place) Sometimes we sang backing vocals with the groups sporting our Cilla and Dusty hairstyles. Dyed and bleached of course.

Sadly Brian Epstein never dropped in to sign anybody up. Not did anybody else!

This programme brought all the memories of this wonderful time back and no matter what you say about Sheridan Smith I think that she played the young Cilla very well.
