It will show what Lesbians and Homosexuals had to put up with in the 1960's and how far we've come. This week there will be a story line about a homosexual along with the on going indication that the nurse patsy is in a lesbian relationship. Anyone who has a problem with this perhaps should look at the reasons why. Its a great program and cuts through the idea of the 'swinging sixties' and shows the sixties weren't all carnaby street and designer mini skirts. I find the grunting and grinding and having babies more off putting than seeing two women kiss.
I have read all the books by Jennifer Worth and don't recall any lesbian storyline. However, there has been a lot of variation from the original books so if the writers want to put one in, they can. It's a shame that the author is no longer around - I think she'd be very happy with most of the series.
