I've tried - honest I have, but I just can't get my head around this programme. Was so riveting last night that I dozed off. Is Sweden really so dark and dull or is this just done to be atmospheric? KB is rather dark and dull too IMO.

I have never enjoyed it...or any of the other Skawegian dramas
It wouldn't do if we all liked the same stuff....I much prefer this to fast-paced, action-packed dramas- which I find tedious.
I have found both the original Swedish version and the English version to be well made, well scripted and very well acted. It does the brain good once in a while to have to actually think about what it is we are watching. And as for KB being dark and dull, maggie, he is playing the role as it should be played. Wallander is not Theo Kojak!
loved all the Swedish made wallanders but not the new wallander in english they were very atmospheric ,got them all recordered to re watch in time
Not exactly new ivor, first series with Ken Branagh aired in '09.
Agree maggiebee, stuck with it but it was like watching black and white telly and adjusting the aerial for sound, not a great advert for Sweden dull and depressing!
