Yes, this is a great programme. I have not been able to watch it much but it is a good foreign series.

Super series - old and young Salvo! Sad its finished but would watch them all again, and what a happy ending - thank heavens it was 'goodbye Livia'!

It was thanks to seeing Montalbano on tv that we decided to go to Sicily. By chance we chose an area where many of the scenes were filmed. We found his house (it is a real building, not a film set) and walked on the beach below from where he goes for his swim. His office at the police station is really the real office of a mayor of one of the local towns. We have been to the island several times and are due to go again in a few months provided airlines and airports are still functining!

An excellent series. I saw the series first on BBC4 followed by the Young Montalbano some months later. I've since bought the series of the original Montalbano on DVD. It was this series that encouraged me to start to learn Italian.
