Now The Bbc Has Caved In Again And Censored Attenborough But Do Go Go By
// The BBC has decided not to broadcast an episode of Sir David Attenborough’s flagship new series on British wildlife because of fears its themes of the destruction of nature would risk a backlash from Tory politicians and the rightwing press, the Guardian has been told. //

Let's be clear, you're saying that so many BBC people are leftie lovers that the output is decidedly left. But the Chairman and DG, who are Tories, don't mention that. Instead they pick out a football presenter, not on the BBC, but on Twitter!
He has every right to express his opinion but as you said, he is a football presenter employed by the BBC. He us meant to tell us about football not his champagne socialist views.
You can all revel in his support and isn't it great all the others have sucked up into the bargain. I wonder what they'll be doing in a few month's time.

Well, he wasn't employed, but let's not dwell on that. The main thing is that he does "tell us about football not his champagne socialist views" when he's on the BBC! This comment was on Twitter, giving his own opinion on his own time on a social media platform.

Look we are all going to disagree. Though he may be freelance and whatever tax etc implications that brings is he is still paid by the BBC to comment on sport. We won't call that employed fine.
"The BBC (British Broadcasting Corporation) is a British public service broadcaster. Its main responsibility is to provide impartial public service broadcasting in the UK, Channel Islands and Isle of Man. BBC is a public corporation of the Department for Culture, Media and Sport"
If he openly attacks the Govt on Twitter good for him but then don't expect to be paid by them.
If I bad mouthed my employer on here or twitter or wherever I wouldn't expect them to say it's OK, you can say what you like on social media, I'd be dismissed.
