I do think turkey has lost some of its fans.  It can be very bland if not prepared properly.

In-laws are buying turkey as usual, from a local butcher, but someone else I know is having duck as it's their favourite, and they said it just seems mad to buy turkey for the sake of it when they aren't mad on it lol.

Our ready basted frozen small turkey is tucked up in the freezer all ready for the big day.

We both really like turkey and all the trimmings on Christmas Day. Some of the leftovers get eaten in a sandwich with cold bread sauce and cranberry sauce, the rest gets turned into some kind of pie type thing along with the leftover veg, chestnuts, gravy, etc, made with bought pastry and served with spicy red cabbage.

We had goose one year which was awful, barely enough meat for us all. Last year we had beef wellington at one of the children's houses, which was quite nice but I'd have preferred turkey to be honest.
