Derek Acorah

Now, I'm very open minded about such matters but I am serious unconvinced about the type of shows that Derek Acorah appears in, and mediums like him. Why do they film the programmes in the dark? I think it's just for effect and to make it seem believeable or scary. Also, when he's supposedly channelling a spirit, it's very unconvincing to me - I've seen this done in real life and Derek Acorah is....well....basically crap at it. I just wish they didn't try and hype up the subject of ghosts and hauntings - it just makes people believe a lot less and call believers like me, fools.

However, I do speak from vast experience of witnessing mediumship firsthand, when I say that Derek Acorah is less than convincing when he appears on the television programmes. I have experienced many very good mediums and some not so good and I can always tell the difference. Derek just comes across as being quite insincere and that it's all just for show. As I said in my original posting, I feel that it's a shame because it makes people believe that all other genuine mediums are the same. To many people who haven't got the time or inclination to experience it for themselves they are led to believe that this is the only way that mediumship is practised. I can quite categorically say that it isn't.
